My life
I'm not a good papa. I spend my time too much for my phone, not my child. I feel guilty. Seem that i'm not a responsible person. Or maybe i'm?
Well, my child not complain anyway. But my wife do. My child remain in her stomach waiting for birth. She/he is been there for 8 month. A month forward, i'll be a good papa. ...[more]

Nokia 6233 after a year
I'v been using this phone for a year and i satisfy. Nokia 6233. Not more than $150 by then. The condition still excellent, like fresh stuff from the kitchen. Metal cover and its screen glass booth remain unscretch. Battery, charger, still work in optimal function. I wont sell this phone even newer models offer better functionality. Good product from nokia, ..err, the best maybe..:p

Palm pre and competition
Labels:
Opinions
Did palm pre get a lot attention? Probably yes. It enters the market while smart phone business still becomes hot issue. Good timing, but at the same time, hard competition. With only 1 design, even have great OS in it, people still in doubt on buying that phone. Buying is an expense, so design and variant are some of important things to consider. Not only OS.
How much money had spent on creating booth hardware and software by Palm alone? Is it worth gambling too much on this competitive market? Speculation is for what they have done I think, but there's no other option. If any possibility to sell their OS, its should be done quick on grabbing better revenue in short period, before others create one with equal quality. Palm really had to sprint... ...[more]

Telecomunication business
Labels:
Prediction
Did you know that you can buy starter pack with only $0.15 in Indonesia? Did you know that only with $2 you can call on net anytime for a month? Yes, Indonesian telecomunication providers must face hard competition. 11 Operators must work smarter to survive.
Potter said that telecomunication is business wich have high entry barrier and high exit barrier. It should have high profit margin, but Indonesia probably an exception. Here, real competition happen. Naturally, some of them will grounded and business back to a monopoly with high margin. Just about time, not for long i predict. ...[more]

Microsoft and Smartphone
Labels:
Prediction
3 big smartphone manufacturers still in battle at the same market. Apple, RIM, and Nokia. Competition getting hotter since Palm pre ready joins the party. Those manufacturers using strategy as Apple ever did on selling its Mac almost 30 years ago. They sell Hardware plus software. Smartphone treated like handphone. Software and hardware isn't separated (yet).
This strategy will last forever, or just end up like PC which is separate hardware and software? There will be winner and looser, and the winner probably not one of any manufacturers I mention above.
Asian companies are waiting and preparing. Sony, Samsung, LG, HTC, and many others can create good stuffs with great design and low cost, but they haven't their own OS. Lot easy and cheap for them having built that OS by others which are software specialist. They won't depend on symbian, iphone, or even palm because the OS' owner sell smart phone too. Not safe for the business.
There are only 2 possible option for Smart phone OS. Windows mobile from Microsoft and Android by Google. Which one becomes the winner? I bet on Windows mobile.
With smaller gap on PC and Smart phone, Microsoft won't let others beat its winmo. Microsoft will try hard on that. Loosing Winmo, than loosing its monopoly on OS PC is just about time. Microsoft will not take that risk.
On lobbying, many big companies from Asia are Microsoft' close friends. Even Sony depends on Microsoft windows for its vaio. Microsoft knowledge and experience about hardware and hardware manufacturers is much better than Google which is focus on advertising business. Their businesses are different actually.
Publicity for winmo is not intensive recently. Much fewer then 4 hits maker companies I mention above. That's OK. All publishers have to create news to make sale, right? So just wait 1 more year till Microsoft and its friends from Asia take over the business. ...[more]
